Nuenen is a small village in North Brabant, Netherlands and best known as the hometown of Vincent van Gogh. Van Gogh lived and worked in Nuenen from 1883 to 1885 and made many of his early paintings here, including "De Aardappeleters" and "De Zonnebloemen". The recently opened Van Gogh Village Museum is entirely dedicated to the life and work of Vincent van Gogh.
The village is picturesque with historic buildings such as St. Clemens Church and St. Elisabeth Klooster (nowadays a cultural center), Weavers' Houses, 't Weefhuis (nowadays an exhibition space) and Huis Nuene Ville. Other sights include the Lindeboom and the Weverkeshof village farm, where Sinterklaas also has his home every year.
The village is surrounded by forests, heathland and fields. There are many walking and cycling routes through nature. But for more liveliness, Eindhoven and Helmond are also nearby.
You can park for free on our site. We also have two bicycles to borrow.
